Devry Boughner Vorwerk is Founder and CEO of DevryBV Sustainable Strategies, a company that provides global strategic and advisory services to C-suite leaders in the areas of ESG and sustainability. In the first part of 2021, Devry served as chief corporate affairs officer at Grubhub, a mobile food delivery company where she served on the Executive Team and led government relations and public policy, communications, sustainability, and brand for the company. Devry had a nearly 15-year career at Cargill, a global food and agriculture company, serving as chief communications officer and head of global corporate affairs and was elected the youngest, female corporate officer in the company’s 150+ year history. In 2016 she joined the law firm Akin Gump as Senior Policy Advisor in the law and public policy practice. Earlier in her career, Devry worked as chief economist for the chairman of the U.S. International Trade Commission, which is a politically-appointed role, and as senior economist in agricultural affairs at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
Devry was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2014 and was selected as one of the world’s top 100 global communicators in 2017, 2018, and 2019 by the influential Holmes Report. A passionate advocate for change, Devry serves on numerous non-profit boards that support women, food and agriculture, and international business. She is a member of the Advisory Board of Latin America Advisor, Board Member of the US Mexico Foundation and Committee Member of U.S.-Pacific Economic Cooperation Council. In 2020, Devry was designated a Senior Fellow at The Conference Board, brought on as Special Advisor to Global Citizen and selected to the Global Advisory Network of World Pulse, an award-winning social network connecting women worldwide for change.
Devry has a bachelor’s degree and Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of California, Davis and Cornell University.
