Our Impact
Since its founding, Give to the World has served some of the world’s most vulnerable people in 11 countries across the globe. From 2018 to 2020, Give to the World provided life-saving resources in the form of medical supplies, meals, or clean water to 110,787 people. Of these, 40,000 have been given access to clean water in 2020 alone; a considerable impact considering that clean water, sanitation and hygiene has the potential to prevent at least 9.1% of the global disease burden. Clean water projects also provide beneficiaries with training on the maintenance of water filters to ensure long-term sustainability.
In 2020, COVID-19 caused widespread distress. The recent resurgence of polio outbreaks in Syria shows how susceptible conflict zones are to disease. To help combat COVID-19, we have supplied 8,320 people with items of PPE, including N95 masks, coverall gowns, gloves and hand sanitizer across Latin America, Pakistan and Syria. In Syria, our donations of PPE have allowed for the safe treatment of 2000 patients per month, including Syrian IDPs, refugees and host communities.
Give to the World also supports specific sustainable programs such as a ‘Work Forward’ program with 56 people enrolled. In this program, single mothers are given supplies to start a coffee business which provides a sustainable income. Furthermore, our supplies support hospitals that facilitate medical training for doctors in Pakistan, Syria and Somalia, allowing for a more significant long-run impact.
Whilst we have recently been involved in non-medical and medical projects alike, our impact from 2007 through to 2017 is captured best by the fact that we mobilized, shipped and monitored the distribution of 199 tons of medicines and medical equipment with a wholesale value over $9,001,834.47 in 9 different countries.
