In 2024, our focus will shift to establishing sustainable community stores, Tiendas Grata, in rural areas of Colombia. These stores will be powered by photovoltaic energy, offering basic family products and creating local jobs. This initiative is not just about providing goods; it’s about empowering communities and fostering economic growth through sustainable practices.
Moving Forward: Training and Preparation
We’ve successfully gathered essential baseline data, giving us a clear understanding of the entrepreneurs' needs. With this information, tailored training sessions in finance, inventory management, and accounting are already underway, empowering these individuals to take their businesses to the next level.
Construction on the Horizon
Despite some initial delays, we’re set to begin construction in mid-August. The community’s involvement in this phase is truly inspiring—they’re not just receiving help; they’re actively shaping their future.
Solar Power: A Bright Future
Plans for the solar power system are in place, and once the store’s roof is completed by the end of August, we’ll begin installing the solar panels. This will make the store fully operational with sustainable energy—a significant step forward.
