Hope in Action: The MARADECA Project is Moving Forward

Just a few months ago, we asked you to stand with the families of Lanao del Sur as they rebuilt their lives after devastating floods. Thanks to your generosity, we have been able to validate families in need and lay the groundwork for a future where food security is within reach.

Now, we are at a pivotal moment. The final phase of our Early Recovery Livelihood Support Project is underway. We are actively purchasing and distributing seeds and farming kits, ensuring that families have the tools they need before the next planting season begins.

This means that right now, farmers who once faced uncertainty and loss are receiving the resources that will empower them to rebuild their livelihoods, feed their families, and regain their independence.

What is the MARADECA Project?

A Story of Resilience

For those learning about this initiative for the first time, the MARADECA Project is a collaboration between Give To The World and MARADECA, a trusted local organization in the Lanao del Sur region of the Philippines.

The project was launched as a direct response to severe flooding that devastated farming communities, wiping out entire harvests, destroying essential agricultural tools, and leaving many families without a way to sustain themselves. Instead of simply providing emergency relief, we sought a long-term solution—one that would help families reclaim their independence and prevent future food insecurity.

Over the past few months, the project has achieved several critical steps.

Identified Affected Families – We collaborated with community leaders to direct aid to those in need.

Secured Storage and Distribution – We set up safe storage and organized logistics for efficient delivery of tools and seeds.

Organized Training – We teamed with local experts to train families in sustainable farming to enhance yields and preserve their land.

Our partner MARADECA is moving ahead with the next steps of the project.

Procuring High-Quality Farming Kits – Sourcing climate-resilient seeds, fertilizers, and durable agricultural tools that will allow families to grow food even in challenging weather conditions.

Purchasing and Distributing Seeds and Kits – This is where we are today, ensuring that everything is in place for families to start replanting immediately.

Monitoring and Assessment – Our partner, MARADECA, will conduct farm visits to assess resource usage, gather farmer feedback on tools and seeds, track sustainable farming adoption through surveys, monitor crop yields and food availability, and submit quarterly progress reports.

But here’s the truth: we cannot do this alone.

Time is critical.

Act now to prevent families from deeper food insecurity. The growing season is near, and each day without action increases hunger. Your donation today provides seeds tomorrow, ensuring children have full plates and communities can thrive. Donate now to help restore hope in Lanao del Sur.

How Your Donation Transforms Lives

Every dollar you give directly empowers families to regain their independence. Here’s what your generosity can achieve:

  • $25 provides a set of high-quality seeds for a family to begin replanting.

  • $50 supplies essential farming tools that will last for years.

  • $100 funds a hands-on training session in climate-resilient farming practices.

  • $250 ensures a family has everything they need—seeds, tools, and training—to start fresh.

Your support provides food for today and creates a future in which families will no longer have to depend on emergency aid.

A Night of Celebration, A Chance to Change Lives

With this incredible progress, there is one more way you can make a lasting impact—by joining us at the Give To The World Annual Gala 2025.

This elegant evening will be a time to celebrate 16 years of humanitarian impact, reflect on the lives changed, and rally support for the next wave of projects—including MARADECA’s continued work in the Philippines.

Every gala ticket purchased and every donation made directly fuels the final stages of this mission.

Every dollar given means another farming kit, another step toward financial independence, resilience, and another future secured.
